(Brahma Purāṇa)One of the 18 Mahapuranas (~10,000 verses). The Brahma Purana is primarily a text of creation (Srishti), cosmology, and sacred geography. It narrates the birth of Brahma from the lotus emerging from Vishnu's navel, the structure of the cosmos, the glories of sacred rivers and tirthas, and the famous story of Savitri and Satyavan.
