श्लोक 1

इति श्रीगारुडे महापुराणे पूर्वखण्डे प्रथमांशाख्ये आचारकाण्डे नवनवत्यधिकशततमो ऽध्यायः श्रीगरुडमहापुराणम्- २०० भैरव उवाच ।वक्ष्ये वायुजयं देवि जया जयविदेशकम् ।वाय्वग्निजलशक्राख्यं मङ्गलानाञ्चतुष्टयम्

iti śrīgāruḍe mahāpurāṇe pūrvakhaṇḍe prathamāṃśākhye ācārakāṇḍe navanavatyadhikaśatatamo 'dhyāyaḥ śrīgaruḍamahāpurāṇam- 200 bhairava uvāca / vakṣye vāyujayaṃ devi jayā jayavideśakam / vāyvagnijalaśakrākhyaṃ maṅgalānāñcatuṣṭayam

हिन्दी अर्थ

एक पल सेवन की गयी वचा मनुष्यको उसी समय श्रेष्ठतम प्रज्ञावान् बना देती है।

English

I shall explain the process of Cudimai for the discrimination of go and bad omens* The soothsayer shall As soon as he hears the Prajna Vikya (the question put by the consultant) he shall draw three lines horizontally, vertically in the form of an idol or eight separate chambers in the eight quarters wherein he shall indicate the symbols banner, etc.

श्लोक 2

वामदक्षिणसंस्थश्च वायुश्च बहुलो भवेत् ।ऊर्ध्ववाही भवेदग्निरधस्तु वरुणो भवेत्

vāmadakṣiṇasaṃsthaśca vāyuśca bahulo bhavet / ūrdhvavāhī bhavedagniradhastu varuṇo bhavet

हिन्दी अर्थ

चिरायता, नीमकी पत्ती, त्रिफला, पित्तपापडा, परवल, मोथा और अड्सासे बने हुए क्वाथका पान विस्फोटक व्रणो और रक्तल्रावको विनष्ट कर सकता है। इसमें विचार करनेकी आवश्यकता नहीं है।

English

He shall write these in Nimamantra form (the initial letters):— (1) banner (2) smoke (3) lion (4) dog (5) bull (6) mule (7) elephant and (8) crow. Seeing banner in the chamber of the banner prognos* ticates anxiety over kingdom, wealth etc. Smoke situated in the chamber of the banner presages anxious thought about metals and gain.

महेन्द्रो मध्यसंस्थस्तु शुक्लपक्षे तु वामगः ।कृष्णपक्षे दक्षिणग उदयस्य त्र्यहन्त्र्यहम्

mahendro madhyasaṃsthastu śuklapakṣe tu vāmagaḥ / kṛṣṇapakṣe dakṣiṇaga udayasya tryahantryaham

हिन्दी अर्थ

केतकीका फल, शंखभस्म, सेंधा नमक, त्रिकटु (काली मिर्च, सोंठ तथा पिप्पली), वचा, समुद्रफेन,

An elephant seen in the chamber of the banner pre¬ sages worry over position, victory, etc. A crow stationed in the chamber of the banner indicates worries over pain and loss of wealth. Seeing a bull in the chamber of smoke presages acquisition of women, cows, horses, wealth etc. Seeing a mule in the chamber of smoke indicatessickneas and loss of wealth.

वहेत्प्रतिपदाद्ये च विपरीते भवेन्नतिः ।उदयः सूर्यमार्गेण चन्द्रेणास्तमयो यदि

vahetpratipadādye ca viparīte bhavennatiḥ / udayaḥ sūryamārgeṇa candreṇāstamayo yadi

हिन्दी अर्थ

विविध स्नेह-पाकोंद्वारा रोगोंका उपचार

Seeing a bull in the chamber of the lion indicates acquisition of house, field and gain. Seeing elephant in the chamber of the lion indicates ownership of a village. Seeing an elephant in the chamber of the lion indi¬ cates health, longevity, happiness, etc. If crow is stationed In the chamber of the lion it indicates acquisition of virgin's grains, good qualities.

श्लोक 5

वर्धन्ते गुणसंघाता अन्यथा विघ्नमौचितम् ।संक्रान्त्यः षोडशप्रोक्ता दिवा रात्रौ वरानने

vardhante guṇasaṃghātā anyathā vighnamaucitam / saṃkrāntyaḥ ṣoḍaśaproktā divā rātrau varānane

हिन्दी अर्थ

औषधियोंको एकमें मिलाकर बनायी गयी बत्तीका नेत्रॉमें प्रयोग करनेसे काच, तिमिर तथा पटलदोष नष्ट हो जाते हैं।

English

श्लोक 6

यदा च संक्रमेद्वायुरर्धार्धप्रहरे स्थितः ।स्वास्थ्याहानिस्तदा ज्ञेया वायुर्भ्रमति देहिषु

yadā ca saṃkramedvāyurardhārdhaprahare sthitaḥ / svāsthyāhānistadā jñeyā vāyurbhramati dehiṣu

हिन्दी अर्थ

दो प्रस्थ अर्थात् आठ सेर उड़द लेकर उससे एक द्रोण अर्थात् सोलह सेर जलमें क्वाथ बनाना चाहिए। चौथाई भाग शेष रहनेपर उस क्वाथके द्वारा एक प्रस्थ अर्थात् चार सेर तेलका पाक करे।

दक्षिणे च पुटे वायुर्हितो भोजनमैथुने ।खड्गहस्तो जयेद्युद्धे रिपून्कामसमन्वितः

dakṣiṇe ca puṭe vāyurhito bhojanamaithune / khaḍgahasto jayedyuddhe ripūnkāmasamanvitaḥ

हिन्दी अर्थ

तदनन्तर उसमें एक आढक अर्थात् आठ सेर कांजी मिलाकर पिसे हुए पुनर्नवा, गोखरू, सेंधा नमक, त्रिकटु, वचा, काला नमक, देवदारु, मंजीठ और कण्टकारी ओषधियोंका चूर्ण मिश्रित

वामेव गमनं श्रेष्ठं सर्वकार्येषु भूषितम् ।वायुर्वहति तत्रस्थः प्रश्रो भूतस्य शोभनः

vāmeva gamanaṃ śreṣṭhaṃ sarvakāryeṣu bhūṣitam / vāyurvahati tatrasthaḥ praśro bhūtasya śobhanaḥ

हिन्दी अर्थ

करना चाहिए। है महेश्वर! इस औषधका नस्य लेनेसे और पान करनेसे भयंकर कर्णशूल नष्ट हो जाता है। इसके अभ्यङ्गसे अर्थात् मालिश करनेसे कानोंका बहरापन एवं अन्य सभी प्रकारके शारीरिक

māhendre vāruṇe vāte ko 'pi doṣo na jāyate / anāvṛṣṭirdakṣavāhe vṛṣṭiḥ syādvāmavāhake

हिन्दी अर्थ

रोग दूर हो जाते हैं।
