The Self is paradoxical — unmoving yet swifter than mind. It is the substratum in which all movement occurs, never moving itself. Like the screen of a film: the screen never moves, yet every motion appears on it.
Unmoving, one, swifter than the mind — the senses cannot reach It, for It moves ahead of them. Standing still, It outruns those who run. In It the cosmic wind sustains all activity.

Simple explanation
Editorial explanation, not scripture
Modern reflection
Editorial reflection, not scripture

A modern parallel offered for reflection. It is not part of the scripture, and it has not been checked against the original sources it may allude to.
